Role Overview
A Power Transformer Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for designing, optimizing, and ensuring the quality of transformers while maintaining cost efficiency and meeting customer requirements. This role also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, engaging with international clients, and ensuring compliance with IS2026 and IEC 60076 standards.
πΉ Key Responsibilities
π Transformer Electrical Design & Calculation
- Perform electrical dimensioning of power transformers.
- Calculate and define specifications such as voltage distribution, short circuit forces, temperature rise, and noise levels.
- Prepare technical specifications for ordering components like tap changers, bushings, and online accessories.
π Tendering & Customer Interaction
- Estimate quantities for tenders and offers.
- Engage in technical discussions with customers to create customized solutions.
- Work with export clients, ensuring global compliance and project execution.
π Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare drawings, calculations, and reports for customer submission.
- Publish technical reports and papers on key transformer topics.
- Collaborate with European factories for product enhancements.
π Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work with sales, mechanical design, manufacturing, and test bay teams.
- Support procurement by specifying materials and selecting the right transformer accessories.
- Utilize SAP and AutoCAD for design and execution.
πΉ Job Requirements & Qualifications
π Education
- Bachelorβs or Masterβs degree in Electrical Engineering.
π Experience
- 4-10 years in Power Transformer Design.
- Hands-on experience in AutoCAD (2D) and electromagnetic simulations (3D preferred).
π Technical Knowledge
- Familiarity with IS2026 & IEC 60076 transformer standards.
- Strong understanding of materials, insulation, and accessories in transformers.
- Proficiency in SAP & engineering tools.
π Soft Skills
- Excellent English communication (written & verbal).
- Ability to work with global teams.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
